Radiohead Drum Technician Killed in Stage Collapse
British band, Radiohead, was preparing for an outdoor concert in downtown Toronto, Ontario Canada when the unthinkable happened – their stage collapsed killing one person and injuring others. When it first happened, there were no details about any of the victims but now it has been revealed that the person who lost their life was the band’s drum technician, Scott Johnson.
The reasons for the collapse are still unclear but the band is definitely shaken up by what happened at Downsview Field this past Saturday, issuing the following statement on their website:
“We have all been shattered by the loss of Scott Johnson, our friend and colleague. He was a lovely man, always positive, supportive and funny; a highly skilled and valued member of our great road crew. We will miss him very much. Our thoughts and love are with Scott’s family and all those close to him.”
Two of the people who were hurt were treated on the scene for minor injuries and the third, a man who suffered a head injury, is improving. The concert, of course, was cancelled and ticket holders will receive a full refund.
