Queen Latifah To Adopt?

Artist and actress Queen Latifah has revealed that she plans to adopt.  The 42-year old was recently on ‘The View’ talking to Barbara Walters when she revealed the news that she plans to go the same route as some of her Hollywood peers like Sandra Bullock, Katherine Heigl, and Madonna.  “I’m actually kind of working on that,” she stated.

Lafitah then explained that a special she saw on TV helped her decide, as confirmed by On The Red Carpet, to take the big step and become a mother. "I think I saw one of those specials...you know those movies of the week," she opened up. "And it was like...I just always wanted to bring a child home."

Latifah then went on to discuss the decision further on the daily talk show, saying that she is  "totally serious" about the adoption. "So if you got a kid that you don't (want)... Just give me a year - let me set up camp and send me the kid," she added.  Lafitah’s reps have since disclosed to People Magazine that there is "nothing new to report," when pressed about the celebrity's decision to become a parent.

In other news, it has been reported that Latifah is currently working on a television movie version of 'Steel Magnolias' where she will star in the lead role.  The flick will be out next year.
