The veteran singer will sing at the site where the Beatles performed almost half a century ago. Paul McCartney to Headline Last Show At Candlestick

The wait is finally over! Sir Paul McCartney has announced that he will be visiting San Francisco's Candlestick Park on August 14 for one last concert at the soon-to-be demolished site.

It has been speculated for several months that the legendary singer would return to the Candlestick, where he and the rest of the Beatles famously performed as a group for the last time in 1966. His reps finally confirmed that all the speculation has actually been spot on by posting a statement on his official website.

"Putting the rumor mill to rest, Paul has confirmed that he will indeed return to San Francisco Aug. 14 to play 'Farewell to Candlestick: The Final Concert," the statement reads.

McCartney recently released a new album titled "New" and is currently busy doing shows for promotional purposes. His date on the Candlestick will be a part of that promo series.

Candlestick Park is where the San Francisco 49ers used to play their home games, but the site will now be demolished since its NFL occupants are moving to Levi's Stadium.

The tickets for what will be the last performance of any kind on Candlestick will go on sale next month.
