If you can recall, Paul McCartney put out his 15th solo studio album this past year, a collection of romantic ballads called Kisses on the Bottom. Rather than take a break, the former Beatle already has plans for another recording – and one that will be a change of pace from Kisses. Although McCartney has not directly spoken to the press, a source revealed details to the Sunday Mirror last week, the most notable being the guitarist and songwriter bringing producer Mark Ronson on board.

While Ronson has produced for several artists already, his most well-known work is Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black, for which he won a Grammy in 2008. McCartney apparently met the producer at his 2011 wedding to Nancy Shevell; Ronson DJed the affair. According to the source, the two are already working together: "This week they went to the studio and started knocking about together to see what they can do together. Everybody's really excited about the prospect of Mark working with Paul."

Kisses was generally positively received but had a different tone and feel from past McCartney albums. Ronson, according to the source, is creating a more modern tone: "Paul respects Mark's knowledge and is wanting to produce a classic album with a young hip edge. And obviously Mark is over the moon to be working with a Beatle."

Kisses on the Bottom was released in February this year, after news leaked in January. McCartney added some of his favorite, but less obvious, classic songs to the tracklist, as well as two original tunes.
