Paramore’s Hayley Williams and Producer Zedd Collaborate on New Single
For rock and EDM fans, consider this a match made in collaboration heaven: “Clarity” producer Zedd worked with Paramore singer Hayley Williams, and now the two have a single planned for release later this month.
Called “Stay The Night,” the track is expected to officially debut on September 10, and by the looks of the collaboration and Zedd’s recent chart history, could well become a hit. What do you think?
Zedd’s best-known song “Clarity” has not only become an EDM festival staple, but now has gained significant ground on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Just recently, the track featuring singer Foxes moved up to No. 8.
As one of the rising EDM producer prodigies along with Avicii and Skrillex, Zedd appears to be expanding his horizons beyond progressive house music. Earlier this year, he performed “Clarity” live on piano during a talk show appearance. Then, he came to Rolling Stone to talk about his role with Lady Gaga’s upcoming album ARTPOP.
Although Zedd’s not ARTPOP’s sole producer, Interscope’s Jimmy Iovine hooked him up with singer; Zedd, to capture her attention, quickly produced a track, which confirmed Gaga’s decision to collaborate.
Statements from his Rolling Stone interview show the two collaborated on several tracks, some of which might not make it onto the album, and decided originally to not write with creating a radio hit in mind.
