One Direction Plans to Record New Album Over Summer
Top boy band of the moment One Direction has no plans of stopping. While a brief break, after the completion of their U.S. tour, is in the cards, the British five-piece plan to enter the studio over the summer. Earlier this year, the pop act mentioned they already started work on a new album, and now, according to a recent interview, the release should be completed by the end of the summer, with a new single following in September.
In discussing One Direction’s follow-up to hit Up All Night, Niall Horan told MTV: “We’ve been recording already, actually. When we came back from Australia, we had a couple weeks off and then we went straight.”
Horan then gave more details, stating: “We wrote an absolutely cracking song that we’re all kind of very excited about. And then last week we were in LA and we had five days off the tour to record in LA so we recorded more there.”
The group will be spending July and August finishing up the new album. However, the new song recorded is not reported new track “Heartbreaker” – they, apparently, haven’t even recorded such a song! Before this endeavor, One Direction will be taking time off – albeit a brief 10 days – before going into the studio and preparing for their 2013 world tour.
Joining One Direction in the studio is Ed Sheeran – as a producer, not performer. Earlier last week, Sheeran mentioned One Direction are recording two of his songs, one written, in fact, when Sheeran was 17. Sheeran will be joining the British boy band in the studio in August.
