"Ole Black 'n' Blue Eyes" Video Review
There's something intriguing about The Fratellis. They're clearly not the most articulate of personages in speech, cf. their bumbling acceptance speech for 'Best British Breakthrough' at the Brits this year, but they clearly come alive through the medium of song (how romantic), as latest single 'Ole Black 'n Blue Eyes' shows. It's a sweet little folky track that is, in so many ways, much more enjoyable than their humongous hit 'Chelsea Dagger', a track so overplayed that by the time you heard it for the millionth time, you almost felt like slitting your throat in protest at the regurgitation of new singles all over town.
'Ole Black 'n Blue Eyes' doesn't pull punches, it just presents itself as is, no tricks, no silliness. It's not a club track, that's for sure, but it's got a charm to it that will entice the Fratelli newbies to hear more from this still fledgling group, and at the same time, current fans won't be disappointed.
