*NSYNC Performs at MTV VMAs, But Will a Proper Reunion Follow?
Perhaps one of the biggest aspects of the 2013 MTV VMAs was *NSYNCs reunion performance. Albeit at just two minutes out of Justin Timberlakes 20-minute set, it was the first time the seminal 90s boy band performed together since the 2003 Grammys.
Timberlakes set covered the biggest singles of his solo career: Take Back The Night, Sexyback, Like I Love You, My Love, Cry Me a River, Seniorita, and Rock Your Body. After receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award for Mirrors, one of his multiple awards over the evening, he then said: "You asked for it."
The boy band then appeared on stage to strains of Pusher Love Girl and Gone and then proceeded to do bits of Girlfriend and Bye Bye Bye. The performance can be watched below:
Although many complained at the brevity of *NSYNCs performance, the Suit & Tie singer thanked them in his acceptance speech: "Half of the Moonmen I won, I won with those four guys over there. We can keep it at my house but I share this award with them."
Could the performance be a taste of a full-fledged reunion tour? Lance Bass addressed this a day after the VMAs in an Associated Press interview. Unfortunately, this looks to be off at least for the time being. He said: "It would be lovely to do it, but we've got nothing planned. Who knows what will happen when he's off tour? It's simply not part of the conversation right now. We just focused on that one performance."
