Notorious B.I.G.’s Autopsy Report Released; Family Responds
Obtained by TMZ.com this week, after being sealed for over 15 years, the autopsy report for the late Notorious B.I.G. reveals how many times he was shot and how he died.
As many know by now, the rapper born Christopher Wallace was shot in a drive-by shooting in 1997. After the incident, he was taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital for an emergency thoracotomy but was pronounced dead at March 9 at 1:15 a.m.
Beyond this, the report indicates the rapper was clean of alcohol and drugs, and the first three bullets were not fatal. Specifically, the first hit his forearm and traveled down to his wrist; the second went through his back, missing vital organs, to his left shoulder; the third hit his left outer thigh and went through to his inner left thigh. The fourth, however, went through his right hip, passing through several vital organs – colon, liver, heart, and upper lobe of his left lung.
On Friday, Perry Sanders, Jr., the attorney for the rapper’s family, admitted he was unaware the report was being released and mentioned he finds it ridiculous that arrests have not been made in this case. He told the press: "I've been advised by the homicide detective that was in charge of the investigation and is no longer with the department that the crime has been solved for several years now. This was confirmed by at least one other person who is currently on the force, and it is ridiculous that an arrest has not been made for a crime that's allegedly been solved for several years."
