Nine Inch Nails Reveal New Album Title, North American Tour
Last week, a press released confirmed Trent Reznor has been working on a new Nine Inch Nails album – albeit one that had been kept under wraps until recently. Following that up, Reznor made a statement at the end of last week with the release date.
Called Hesitation Marks, the release comes out on September 3, with the iTunes preorder beginning last week. This release, their eighth, is also their first on Columbia Records, with news of their recording contract surfacing last week.
More recently, Columbia has been adding older electronic music artists to its roster, including Depeche Mode and Daft Punk, both of whom released new albums over the past two months.
Reznor revealed he has been working with Atticus Ross and Alan Moudler on Hesitation, and in his statement, he gave an update on its progress: "[…] I am happy to say is finished and frankly f-cking great.”
The Nine Inch Nails: Tension 2013 arena tour, managed by Live Nation, comes to North America on September 28 in St. Paul and finishes up on November 25 in Calgary. Speaking about the tour, Reznor said: "Tension picks up where ‘Lights in the Sky’ left off. This is the full-on NIN live experience realized as we never could before."
Before the North American trek, Nine Inch Nails has a string of international dates planned, beginning with the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan on July 26.
