Nicole Scherzinger Getting Second Solo Album Ready

Although her debut solo release never came out in the U.S., Nicole Scherzinger is already at work on a follow-up. Nicole Scherzinger Getting Second Solo Album Ready

Nicole Scherzinger’s post-Pussycat Dolls album Killer Love turned into a moderate success overseas but never made it to this side of the Atlantic. At one point, after multiple delays, a reworked version was expected to come out in 2012, but as of now, the album seems to be shelved. Scherzinger, according to MailOnline reports, is already hard at work on her second solo album, with single “Boomerang” leading it.

Scherzinger claims the new release will feature “really big dance anthems” and “motivating and inspiring songs.” These statements and others – that she’s working with Afrojack and Will.i.am – indicate Scherzinger may end up going in a more EDM-influenced direction. Can you see her putting out such an album?

Speaking about “Boomerang,” she expressed excitement, stating: "I just love the lyrics and the energy of the song. My friend Jamie Marshall wrote it and I really connected with it. And when will.i.am played me that song I could relate to the lyrics, about coming back even stronger, and I thought he had a really cool spin on how to say that and how it feels to be resilient."

The rest of the album is expected to appear later this year. Other collaborators include Toby Gad and Dallas Austin.

Outside of recording, Scherzinger was a judge last year on the U.K. X Factor, having a far more successful run than her U.S. stint. At the moment, she is uncertain about returning and may, instead, try her hand at more film roles instead.
