Nicole Scherzinger Announces “Boomerang” as Next Single
While the debut album from former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger has yet to hit the U.S., the singer continues to release singles. The latest, a tracked called “Boomerang,” was announced over Twitter. There’s no word when the single will be officially released.
Along with announcing the single, Scherzinger confirmed the video for the track is in the works. Through Instagram, she showed fans pictures of the shoot and rehearsals.
Even though Scherzinger’s debut album has not reached American shores, she appeared on the first season of the U.S. X Factor, in which she was painted as a ditzy judge with ineffective feedback. Scherzinger was not asked to come back – Britney Spears seems to have taken over her role – but the singer is now on the U.K. version. With a slightly funny, partially kooky character, Scherzinger has been doing better on the other side of the pond. The Hollywood Reporter claims she was “never given a chance to shine” in the U.S. because of limited roles for female judges.
What happens if her solo and judging careers fall through? While the first lineup of the Pussycat dolls essentially disbanded unofficially in 2010 (a new lineup is apparently in the works), Carmit Bachar states the rest of the group has not been in contact with Scherzinger, she isolated herself with a diva attitude, and, if a reunion were to happen, the current X Factor judge would not be invited. Bachar stated: "A Pussycat Dolls reunion isn't out of the question. Five of us - and not Nicole - could happen. But all six? Never. Too much water under the bridge."
