Nicole Scherzinger About to Sign a New Album Deal
Nicole Scherzinger may only be known as a Pussycat Doll in the U.S., but her career took off in the U.K. over the past three years: A successful solo album in 2011 and then a memorable stint as an X Factor judge. Now, according to a source to The Sun, her career’s going to the next level with a million-pound deal through Sony.
This source said the singer’s about to sign a £3 million contract for a sophomore solo album, as well as other commercial endeavors. Demand stems from her X Factor popularity. The source explained: ''Nicole was the most popular member of the X Factor panel this year and is the real winner in terms of bankability. She is set to sign with Sony and can't wait to get back to her music, which took a back seat during X Factor.''
With her next album in the works and a family, Scherzinger may not return to the television program, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Aside from new music, deals with fashion brand Missguided and Herbal Essences look to be in the works.
Scherzinger started her post-Pussycat Dolls career with album Killer Love, which came out in the U.K. in March 2011. A U.S. release had been in the works, with new producers tied to the project, but Killer Love never came out on the other side of the Atlantic.
Killer Love, however, wasn’t Scherzinger’s first solo effort. She started Her Name is Nicole in 2005, while still with the Pussycat Dolls, but mediocre singles and a lack of direction halted the project. Songs either went to the girl group or ended up on Scherzinger’s first proper solo album.
