Nicki Minaj Reveals Third Studio Album Will Be Out by 2014
2012’s Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded earned Nicki Minaj her second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, so after an extended version and her stint on American Idol, what other plans does the rapper have for new music?
Work has already started on a new album, she revealed in an E! interview, with intent to have it out by 2014.
During the interview, the “Super Bass” star talked about a potential Miley Cyrus collaboration that didn’t come to fruition and about focusing more on her music since American Idol ended.
About her time on the show, she said: "It was such a great experience. I would not trade it for the world. But my heart is in my music and I had to step back and go have different experiences so that I could write my third album…That's the most important thing in my life right now."
Along with this, Minaj will be appearing in movie The Other Woman. Directed by Nick Cassavetes, the movie stars Cameron Diaz and Kate Upton.
The “Starship” singer’s second album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, debuted in April 2013, with the extended version, The Re-Up, coming out in November 2012. Since coming out, Roman Reloaded went platinum in the U.S. and spawned successful singles “Starships,” “Va Va Voom,” and “Pound the Alarm,” as well as tracks like “Stupid Hoe,” “High School,” and Cassie collaboration “The Boys.”
