Nicki Minaj Reveals Album’s Lead-In Single in New Soulja Boy Track
While some artists take to social media to announce details about their next album, Nicki Minaj has been adding the key points in lyrics for new tracks.
The latest is a collaboration with Soulja Boy called “Yasss Bish,” which came out on Friday. Minaj is gearing up for The Pink Print, her third official album, and while a release date has yet to be revealed, her new tracks have all included hints.
In it, she raps: “Droppin’ my single in two weeks/ The Pink Print album a movie.”
So mark your calendars for May 16.
“Yasss Bish” comes after “Boss Ass B-tch,” “Chi-Raq,” and “Lookin’ Ass,” all tracks she has been putting out to get attention for her new release. While there’s no word whether these are simply one-off singles, as Minaj has a tendency to put out before an official release, or if these will actually be on The Pink Print.
After going more pop with Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, Minaj has toned down her image to seem more “hip-hop” – she hasn’t been spotted with any crazy wigs or clothing recently – and has dropped the vocal aspects that made songs like “Starships” and “Pound The Alarm” seem more dance-pop.
Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded came out in 2012 and reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Minaj followed it with an extended play version later that year called The Re-Up.
