Nicki Minaj Cancels V Festival Appearance
Rapper Nicki Minaj cancelled her scheduled performances at the V Festival this past weekend due to damage to her vocal chords. Minaj was promised to be part of the line-up at the festival with shows set to take place on both Saturday and Sunday. Instead the artist opted out to heal up after originally ignoring doctor’s orders, Contact Music has confirmed.
In a statement issued by Minaj’s rep to The Hollywood Reporter, the singer has “regretfully cancelled.” Adding, “Despite doctor's orders, she performed on a bruised vocal chord in (New York City) on August 14. As a result, the chord has gotten worse." The performance that Minaj’s publicist was referring to took place at the Roseland Ballroom in New York where the artist was the main attraction along with Lil Wayne, Drake and Foxy Brown, among others.
In other news, Lil Wayne's 'Dedication 4' mixtape is set to hit shelves next week. The album will feature Nicki Minaj. Talking about their collaboration, Minaj recently told MTV that this time around things were different for the duo creatively. "I usually pick the beat when me and Wayne do something. I went to Miami and I started grilling him like, 'Hey, why don't you lecture me anyone?' and he says, 'you made it already I ain't got to tell you sh--."
