Nicki Minaj And Ricky Martin Appear In MAC's Viva Glam Campaign
Rapper Nicki Minaj and ‘Living La Vida Loca’ singer Ricky Martin have teamed up to appear in MAC Cosmetics Viva Glam Campaign. Seen in the first promo photo above, Minaj and Martin have signed on as spokes models for the popular brand’s lipstick line that benefits the AIDS fund. “Every cent of the selling price of MAC Viva Glam lipstick and lip gloss is donated to the MAC AIDS fund,” the cosmetics guru announced.
The Viva Glam ad was shot by David La Chapelle, showcasing Minaj in high heels and all glammed up in pink, while Martin hoists a gigantic lipstick in the air with flexed muscles, in a unique pairing that has drawn some serious attention across the web.
Tweeting the exciting news, Minaj recently updated fans on her appearance in the campaign. "Barbz, check out my #MACVivaGlam photo w/@ricky_martin on Facebook! Lipstick's out in Feb - buy 1 save a life!"
According to the Daily Mail, MAC is offering the lipstick line in two different shades of pink, selling them at $14 each. The name of both lipsticks have been aptly coined ‘Viva Glam Ricky’ and ‘Viva Glam Nicki’. Fans can get the cosmetics when they go on sale in stores this coming February 2012.
This isn’t the first time Nicki Minaj has appeared and promoted MAC’s lipstick. Last year the singer headed up the cosmetic brand’s Pink Friday lip shade. Fans went crazy over the make-up, with sales on EBay posted for $70.
Both Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin join the ranks of former MAC spokespersons Lady Gaga, 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun' singer Cyndi Lauper, Fergie, Linda Evangelista, model Naomi Campbell and more. Since 1994 MAC has managed to raise $224 million for the fund.
