Nick Jonas Being Considered as "American Idol" Judge
The youngest Jonas brother has confirmed that he is being considered to fill the seat vacated by Steven Tyler American Idol’s judges’ panel. This would mean that the young star, Nick Jonas, would be working directly with Mariah Carey and possibly Randy Jackson (his contract has not been confirmed).
Jonas recently tweeted: "The rumors are true... I am being considered to be a judge on American Idol, and it would be a dream come true if it happens hashtag "#nickonidol."
A source connected with the show seems to support what he’s saying: "Nick is pretty close to signing to be the 'Idol' judge. They flew him in to L.A. for final meetings. 'American Idol' producers think he can help bring that younger demo to the show,'" the source added.
He might get a bad rap for being one of the Jonas Brothers but Nick is actually a good pick. He was always the most mature and focused of the group, he is actively involved within his community even bringing issues to Capitol Hill and he’s been on Broadway. He’s well-rounded so I’d like to see him get a chance.
Another rumor is that rapper and producer Pharrell Williams will be taking over Jackson’s spot since Randy will be moving to a mentoring role. ''Everything is looking good," a source said, "but they're still working out details.''
