What are the perks of being a producer (or even an executive producer) behind a pop star’s album? You get to create the sound. Last week, it was revealed Will.i.am is assuming such a role on Britney Spears’ upcoming album, and fans are taking advantage of this.

One fan tweeted about giving Spears more natural instrumentation – strings instead of synths. While the Black Eyed Peas rapper didn’t give a definite answer, his response was somewhat affirmative. The exchange went like this:

Demi Lovato’s upcoming album, Demi, isn’t due until May 14, but the former Disney star gave fans a preview today by releasing songs for streaming through YouTube. In total, 11 tracks emerged over the course of the day, based on the intensity of tweets.

Lovato encouraged fans to tweet about the new music, and from there, she put out the tracks online. Currently, all tracks are available for listening through the singer’s official YouTube channel. One Direction, according to recent news, are continuing their hit streak by recording a new album – their third one, in fact. At the end of April, Louis Tomlinson offered an update, and now collaborator Ed Sheeran provided more insight this week.

Sheeran, in speaking with MTV, mentioned the release, which is due by Christmas, won’t feature any of his tracks. The singer/songwriter, who was behind “Little Things,” explained: "I haven't done any songs on this one; I've actually kind of cut myself from giving any people songs at the moment, because I want to make my album. On May 1, Chris Kelly, one half of 1990s kid rap duo Kris Kross, was found unresponsive in his home, and upon being taken to Atlanta Medical Center, he was pronounced dead. Since that point, it has been revealed Kelly’s funeral will be held in Atlanta.

On Saturday, Murray Brothers Funeral Home in the Georgia city confirmed they are holding a public viewing in the afternoon and evening on May 8. On May 9, a funeral service has been scheduled at the Jackson Memorial Baptist Church.

The night before Kelly died, his mother told Fulton County police the rapper became ill after using cocaine and heroin. Currently, Kelly’s death is being investigated as a potential drug overdose. He passed away at age 34.[…] Read more »

Just how bad can Bieber fever get? At a Dubai concert at the Sevens Stadium on May 5, one male fan jumped on stage as Justin Bieber performed, tackling him. While the man grabbed the singer, according to Dubai newspaper The National, the Biebs was lucky enough to get out of the way before anything serious happened.

Certain music groups, throughout pop culture history, keep getting back together, while others, like The Smiths, call it quits and never see each other on stage again. ABBA falls into the latter. Although the Swedish quartet hasn’t performed together officially since 1982, rumors of a reunion have persisted for the past 20 years. However, this past weekend, Agnetha Faltskog confirmed ABBA are officially over.

In an interview in Australia on Sunday, the singer said in regards to a reunion: “I don’t think so. No. And we’ve had a lot of offers but we have our own life now since many years back and we don’t understand why we should do it.
