Brandy was always the cool older sister, the one we looked up to in the early nineties as she belted out wise-beyond-her-years tunes, usually accompanied by an infectious melody and complicated drum pattern with the help of her go-to producer, Darkchild, for her adolescent fans.
Then, 2000 showed up, and we shelved her, along with the other 90s-era divas, as a new crop of teen and tween pop stars (Beyonce, Britney, Christina) took over. The quintet - made up of Lisa Scott-Lee, H, Claire Richards, Faye Tozer and Lee Latchford-Evans - chalked up 14 consecutive UK Top 10 singles between 1998 and 2001 but decided to disband after releasing their first greatest hits album "Gold".
10 years on after trudging along with lacklustre solo music and acting careers, Steps have reunited to launch a brand new best-of package titled "Steps: The Ultimate Collection" - a 20-track compilation of all their singles.

Florence explains that the song's inspiration was drawn from her inherent artistic attraction to "overwhelming things".
"The ocean seems to me to be nature’s great overwhelmer. When I was writing this song I was thinking a lot about all those people who’ve lost their lives in vain attempts to save their loved ones from drowning. It’s about water in all forms and all bodies," she said.
