Fans from around the world have paid homage to Jim Morrison, the legendary singer/songwriter for The Doors.
Even though this rock group entertained fans back in the 1960’s, the sounds of The Doors still continues to attract fans young and old. The haunting sound of Riders On The Storm is known "sound by sound" by just about every living soul on the planet. And many rock stars have tried to release their version of Light My Fire, but the majority of listeners still prefer to hear the age-old version of The Doors with the brilliant guitar solos and fantastic keyboard rhythms (in the clip at the end). Lately Lupe Fiasco has been getting attention more for his controversial political tirades than for his talent as a skate-happy rapper. It’s not surprising, then, to hear of his latest stance in support of fellow rapper Lil’ B’s ire-raising new album, I’m Gay (I’m Happy), which hit stores June 29.
In a written review of the Bay Area-based MC, posted onto his own website, lupefiasco.com, Fiasco praised the young rapper’s bravery in choosing such an attention-grabbing album title.
“First, let me make something abundantly clear, the title "I'm Gay (I'm Happy)" I think is absolute genius, said Fiasco on his website. Those two words together side by side in almost any format in the society we live in can be a cultural and social death sentence… I'm talking a shanked in the shower, beat with a bat, beheaded on Friday kinda death. Jason Derulo has just released the lead single Don't Wanna Go Home from his forthcoming album Future History. This will be his sophomore album, due to be available in September this year. While Jason is still putting the finishing touches to this next CD, he has commented saying that the second album will be a "lot more diverse" than his debut self-titled album.
The track "Don't Wanna Go Home" is a club-focused single, but many of us will recognize a song from the 1950’s that has stood the test of time upon which Jason's song is obviously based. The old track is none other than Harry Belafonte's huge hit of 1956, The Banana Boat Song (Day-O). […] Read more »

Ordinarily, hip-hop isn’t associated with Lenny Kravitz, but the rocker, not straying too far from his sound, has been working with Jay-Z, Drake, Swizz Beatz, and a handful of other artists for his upcoming album. His latest since 2008, Kravitz’s album, titled Black and White America, originally started as a funk-oriented project, and his ideas for hip-hop and R&B influences grew from there. In an interview with Billboard, Kravitz mentioned: "As I was finishing that other (album), I started writing these other songs. They were coming out of the blue, and they had nothing to do with what I was doing. At first I figured, 'Well, I'll put these aside for now and deal with these later,' and they kept coming -- one, two, three, four of them. […] Read more »
