Considering picking up the new Blink 182 album Neighborhoods but aren’t fully convinced? Give the full release a listen before you buy. Reported by NME this morning, Blink 182 is streaming their new album in full. Listen to all tracks here.
Blink 182’s first album in eight years, Neighborhoods came out yesterday in two editions: a standard 10-track LP and a 13-track deluxe version. Why the two versions? In speaking with NME, bassist Mark Hoppus mentioned: “I think it's pretty much standard practice now to have a standard and deluxe edition. I think some people are only mildly interested in a band and might only want the standard edition and some are more hardcore fans and will want the B-sides. But, I don't think any of these are B-sides.”[…] Read more »
Selena Gomez has been announced as the host of the next edition of the European Music Awards and the teen singer is super excited to get the organisers’ approval for the coveted gig. After it was confirmed that she has landed the one-night job, Gomez took to her Twitter account and wrote, “I'm so excited to be hosting the 2011 MTV EMA on Nov 6 in Belfast! Watch it live on MTV.”
In a separate press release issued earlier, the Naturally-crooner had stated, “It's a dream come true! This is such a huge event that always recognizes the biggest stars in music from across the globe, so it's a real honor to be MC at this year's show.”[…] Read more »
Nick Carey, er, Cannon, is attempting parental machismo in his new song, “I Remember.”
The song, which is a remix of a Deadmau5 track, begins with an abstract and colorful beat.
What follows is a voiceover prelude that speaks, “It’s incredible” in Auto-Tune, after which point "I Remember" then plummets into a confusing Soulja Boy/Bone Thugs and Harmony lyrical combo as the man we knew first as an “All That” Nickelodeon child star, then the comedy host of MTV’s Wildin’ Out, then an attempted movie star (Remember 2003 high school movie “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” with fellow musician and rumored love interest Christina Milian?), then as Mariah Carey’s husband and eventual father of her two children and finally, a host again, this time for primetime annoyance “America’s Got Talent,” attempts profanity and street-cred.[…] Read more »
Rihanna was snapped in a few country casual-inspired attires on the outdoor set, smoking a cigarette on film. One look saw the Barbadian beauty rocking an oversized red flanelette jacket and baggy jeans with a pair of red bandana-style bikini on display, while the other was an Americana-influenced combo of faded blue denim vest with matching shorts. The music video is expected to premiere in October sometime.
"Glassheart" was originally slated for a November release in time for the lucrative Christmas season. However, the former X Factor winner said that she is feeling "inspired" to record more new material to go with the collection of songs already chosen for the album.
Here is Leona Lewis' official statement on Facebook:
"Just wanted to update everyone on the album! I'm feeling so inspired right now and have decided to continue recording! I have a collection of songs that I'm so in love with and I no there's more to be born so it means the album will come early next year. [sic]"
Billy Corgan told Billboard.com that the Smashing Pumpkins are going back to making albums. But don’t take his words as a hint of reunion with past members. Rather, Corgan expresses that fans didn’t appear satisfied with the band’s last project, Teargarden By Kaleidyscope, a series of songs released over the internet. He told Billboard.com: "I reached a point where I saw that the one-song-at-a-time idea had maxed itself out. I just saw we weren't getting the penetration in to everybody that I would have hoped. I mean, we have 1.3 million followers on our Facebook page, right? So you think you put (a song) up and 1.3 million people are gonna see it -- but only if they're looking at the exact moment it goes up. […] Read more »
