Aretha Franklin has announced her plans to marry this coming summer.  The longtime artist and 18 time Grammy winner, per AceShowbiz, will be tying the knot with William “Willie” Wilkerson, her longtime friend, and now fiancé.

This will mark the sixty-nine year old star’s third walk down the aisle. According to what Franklin shared with People Magazine, the soul singer is interested in holding her wedding during June or July of this year. "We're looking at June or July for our date."

Justin Bieber has reunited with long-time friend Jaden Smith to collaborate on a new song to extend their best wishes for  a "Happy New Year". Just hours after performing ("Let It Be" with Carlos Santana) for the mammoth crowd at "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest", Justin released this latest track, "Happy New Year", as an extra delight for his dedicated fans to kick off 2012.

In a message to his followers, he Tweeted, "New Years is starting all around the world. so to all my fans around the world...THANK YOU FOR 2011 and Have a Great 2012."

A demo of Bullet sung by Katy Perry has surfaced online. How? Who knows!  But Katy wrote the song about three years for US country singer Jessie James who used the song on her self-titled debut album back in 2009. Now Katy Perry is singing the song she originally wrote.

The track has a real country music twang as she sings, "my mama warned me about boys like you." Maybe she is also sending out a message to Russell Brand from whom she has just recently split.

Paul McCartney has publicly criticised bands that use backing tapes when they play live shows. He has vowed that he never depends on them for his own performances.

The comment surfaces when his sound engineer, Paul Pablo Boothroyd, stated that some major artists use tapes to boost much of their shows. Not naming any specific artists, the sound engineer has however worked for some big name artists during his lifetime.

In support of performing live without backing tapes, McCartney said that at the end of a show when the band takes a bow, they are pleased to accept the audience applause and appreciation. A biographical movie dramatizing the life of superstar, Elton John, is now in the planning stages. Elton John himself, has stated that he would like Justin Timberlake to take on the lead role.

The screenplay is finished, having been carefully crafted by Lee Hall, the author of the highly successful movie Billy Elliot - a heartening film documenting the life and times of a young boy who wanted to dance despite living in a coal mining town.

Last week, Perez Hilton reported that the title and tracklist of Madonna’s upcoming album had been leaked. The release is supposedly titled LUV, while the tracklist may include the following songs:
