We’ve been hearing that Ariana Grande has a sophomore album in the works for a few months. With singles coming out or being announced, like “Problem” and “Break Free,” that appears fairly certain. Grande confirmed earlier statements this weekend by revealing her sophomore album is in the works – and when it’ll be out and what it’ll be called!
The singer with a big voice went on Twitter this weekend to tell her followers the title. She said: “my album is called my everything …. annddd there's more.”
“There’s more” turned out to be links to the album’s preorder page and to an interview with Ryan Seacrest. […] Read more »
Last year, Britney Spears’ latest release Britney Jean came and went. Maybe it was the fact that she claimed it was a very personal album, and its dance-tinged, robotic tracks tended to be anything but. Or maybe it was because the release had no stand out single. Yes, you still hear “Work B**ch” played these days, but how many of you actually remember “Perfume”?
But before Britney Jean came along, Spears scored a hit with a soundtrack contribution, “Ooh La La” for the Smurfs 2. Now it looks like she’s taking the same approach with a new single called “All The Way.”
Lenny Kravitz has his first album in three years planned for fall 2014, and to start promoting the release, he put out a new single this week, titled “The Chamber.”
Listen to it in the lyric video below, released on June 23.
Following 2011’s Black and White America, Kravitz had a major hand in producing Strut. In fact, he practically did it all, writing the lyrics and playing guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, and percussion.
Regarding Strut, Kravitz explained in a statement: “This record brought me back to a place of what I love so much about music, back to the feelings I had when I was in high school. It’s a real rock & roll record – it’s raw, it’s got soul and it came together really quickly.”[…] Read more »
R&B sensation The Weeknd has been relatively silent throughout most of 2014. The singer who came up with his own self-produced and released albums, put out under Trilogy in 2012, returned this week with new track “Often.”
Announced with a tweet on June 24, the song’s both a typical turn for the Canadian-born singer, as well as a routine exercise in R&B lyrics. Hear the new track on his Soundcloud page.
At the same time the new track dropped, a tour with SchoolBoy Q and Jhené Aiko was announced for the fall. […] Read more »
Frank Ocean’s a relatively private person, down to his life and the music he makes. Therefore, it’s not surprising he’s revealed scant details about his sophomore album, expected to drop sometime over the next year.
However, a source came forward to BuzzFeed this week to provide an extremely pertinent update. While we still don’t know when Ocean’s next album will come out or what it will be titled, the source stated that the “Super Rich Kids” singer recently fired his management and publicist – all to put his career in a new direction.
Specifically, Ocean dropped Christian and Kelly Clancy, the management team still working with Odd Future and who assisted Ocean for his debut. There’s no word who’s replacing them.[…] Read more »
On the pop music spectrum, Jerry Lee Lewis is considered a relic of another era. Yet, after a sporadic output of original material in the 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared to make a comeback over the past decade. Two albums have dropped since 2006, and Lewis just announced his third this week.
Called Rock & Roll Time, the new album comes out later this year on Vanguard Records and coincides with an autobiography. The release follows Last Man Standing, which came out in 2006 and peaked at No. 26 on the Billboard 200, and Mean Old Man, which followed four years later and peaked at No. 39.
Prior to that, his last full-length studio album was 1995's Young Blood.[…] Read more »
