The Hives Announce New Album
It's been 5 years since the Swedish garage rock band The Hives released The Black and White Album, but the band announced yesterday their new full-length album will be released later this year.
Lex Hives, the group's fifth studio album, is scheduled to be released on June 1 in Sweden, June 4 in the UK, and June 5 in the US and Canada.
The first single off the new album, "Go Right Ahead," was made available alongside the announcement. The single will be available as a vinyl 7" as part of Record Store Day on April 21.
In support of the new record, The Hives will play a mini tour that includes two Coachella dates. See the full schedule below:

'One Direction' Set For 'SNL' Appearance
Boybands are making their way back in the US music market once again and so the people behind "Saturday Night Live" have decided to cash in on this trend. On the April 7 episode, the show's audience will get to see the British-Irish quintet of hot boys who call themselves "One Direction."
The former "X Factor" participants will perform live for the "Saturday Night Live" viewers, with Sofia Veragara performing the hostess' duties for the night.
The "Three Stooges" actress has confirmed her participation on SNL by writing "Yes!! Very exited!!" on her official Twitter account.

More Chart Glory for Nicki Minaj
American Hip Hop artist Nicki Minaj has rewritten record books yet again. The Trinidad-born femcee's most recent musical offering "Starships" has jumped up two places from its previous position of fifth to third on the UK single chart and that is now the highest a female rapper has ever gone on that list.
The record, which is now Minaj's, was previously held by Missy Elliott, whose 2001 hit "Miss E... So Addictive" featuring Eve had reached number 5 on the aforementioned British chart.

Fiona Apple Reveals New Album Title
Last month, Epic Records CEO L.A. Reid announced that singer Fiona Apple was gearing up to release her much-awaited fourth studio album. Now Apple has released the new album's title, and it's a mouthful:
The Idler Wheel is wiser than the Driver of the Screw, and Whipping Cords will serve you more than Ropes will ever do.
Recalling Apple's When the Pawn... album, whose full title was an eight-line poem, the new album is set to be released in late June via Epic.
