Again, Pitbull is in his element with his clever, subtle smiles as he raps his lines and makes his stylish moves. Dressed in a black suit and wearing sunglasses, just like one of the Men in Black, Pitbull looks perfectly at ease on the movie-set as he begins with an announcement that he is "reporting from Cape Canaveral" and then breaks into a sample of the 1950s hit "Love is Strange" by Mickey and Sylvia. As expected, everything is sci-fi related - huge weapons, unusual secure lock down rooms and stunning visual effects.[…] Read more »
Do you remember last year when, a few months before his solo album hit stores, Drake mentioned it would be more personal and an improvement over his debut disc? At the time, he told Rolling Stone: "With this album, I want to tell a whole story. I don't want people to just hear a piece and judge the album on that.”
The rapper/singer is now taking the same stance for his third album. Now considering Take Care too “down” for his tastes, he says he’s giving his third album a new sound, one influenced by his move from Toronto to Los Angeles. […] Read more »
In 2011, Justin Bieber had two (antithetical) women in his life: Selena Gomez, the Disney kid and pop star, and Mariah Yeater, a 20-year-old claiming the Biebs fathered her then 3-month-old son. While you might assume Bieber’s latest single, “Boyfriend,” is for the former, could he write anything for his delusional wannabe baby-mama?
At one point, the teen singer said he was going to clear up rumors with his upcoming album Believe, and this weekend, he clarified his earlier statement, mentioning he is writing a song to Yeater. […] Read more »
Out of all the collaborations David Guetta has done over the past year, which has been your favorite? If it was “Without You,” his track with Usher from Nothing But The Beat, you’re in luck. Yesterday, the French DJ told The Hollywood Reporter, while filming on the set of America’s Best Dance Crew, that he and Usher are returning to the studio to create another hit. Without giving away too many details about their sessions, Guetta said: "Actually we are [collaborating]. These are really big records that we're working on right now. It's really crazy."[…] Read more »
To coincide with the legendary band's 50th anniversary this summer, the Beach Boys are set to release their first original album in more than two decades.
"It reminds me of our Sunflower album, which is probably one of our least-selling albums, [but] some of the songs there are stunning," band member Bruce Johnston told Billboard. "It's not a quilt or a pot-luck dinner, it's not like, 'OK, everybody show up with your songs.' It's not one of those kind of albums... It's all brand new."
The band will also set out on an extensive world tour in conjunction with the anniversary, with founding members Brian Wilson, Mike Love, and Al Jardine. All the current members wrote songs for the new LP.[…] Read more »
Passion Pit has announced the follow-up to their 2009 studio debut album, Gossamer.
The 12-track LP will be released on July 24th. The follow-up has been in the works for some time now. The band's Michael Angelakos told NME back in 2010 that the new album is "gonna be really fantastic, exciting, beautiful, gorgeous record. An absolutely beautiful record. I'm so excited."
He continued, "We're aligning it with the Farmers' Almanac in America, so when the buds start to bloom is when we kind of wanna release it. Like when life starts to come back. We wanna be pretty literal."
The buds will sure be in bloom when the band steps out this spring and summer for numerous festival performances and 2 co-headlining performances at Red Rocks (with Justice) and the Hollywood Bowl (with Hot Chip). […] Read more »
