New Music Releases: October 24, 2012

It's an interesting week filled with a good amount of country balanced by rap and holiday classic. New Music Releases: October 24, 2012

This week’s new releases include the highly anticipated Taylor Swift album, Red, but also spans several different genres from country to rap to a new release from a member of the Rat Pack.  Take a look at what’s new:

Red (Taylor Swift) – It’s finally here!  After Swift released her incredibly successful lead single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” fans have been anxiously waiting to see if the rest of the album is just as good. Containing a whopping 16 tracks, the country star has proven that she still has a lot to say.

On This Winter’s Night (Lady Antebellum) – The group started strong with their double platinum debut album and cemented their place in the industry with their triple platinum follow-up, Need You Now.  It’s no surprise, therefore, that they want to tackle that special yearly market with a well-crafted holiday album.  With 12 classic covers, their fans will be sipping cider by the fire to the sounds of their signature harmonies.

Good Kid: M.A.A.D. City (Kendrick Lamar) – The Compton-based rapper has garnered a great amount of attention and has already worked with some major artists including Dr. Dre, Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, Lady Gaga and Drake.  For even more music, the Deluxe Edition of the album includes three additional tracks.

Viva Duets (Tony Bennett) – Music lovers looking for a break from the pop-infused, autotuned songs on the radio will be thrilled with the legend’s newest collection of collaborations with big-name artists including Christina Aguilera, Marc Anthony and Gloria Estefan.  The album features music in both English and Spanish.

Change My Mind (Billy Ray Cyrus) – When Cyrus’ 1992 debut album, Some Gave All, was certified nine times platinum (which is insane!) due to the success of “Achy Breaky Heart,” it was clear that he knew something about connecting with country fans. Now, 20 years later he’s hoping to recapture some of that magic with a 10-track effort.
