New Music Releases - November 20, 2012

After a few slow weeks, there are some truly great albums being released right now. New Music Releases - November 20, 2012

There’s a lot of good music on tap this week ranging from Rihanna’s highly anticipated album to some greatest hits collections.  There’s a little something for everyone and could give you some great holiday shopping ideas!

Unapologetic (Rihanna) – There has been all kinds of buzz surrounding this album and it’s been less about what we can expect from her music and more about “Nobodies Business,” her collaboration with ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown.  Undoubtedly, with a title like “Unapologetic,” we can expect Rihanna to use her music to get her point across.

Greatest Hits: Chapter 1 (Kelly Clarkson) – Along with three new tracks including “Catch My Breath,” this collection takes her fans through so many of her biggest hits and even includes her rendition of “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” which makes it perfect for the holiday season.

Coldplay: Live 2012 (Coldplay) – This DVD/CD combo is the British band’s first live album/concert film in nearly a decade.  It follows their journey on the Mylo Xyloto tour around the world with footage from stops in Los Angeles, Montreal, Madrid and Paris.  A must-have for fans, especially those that didn’t get to make it to a show.

Global Warming (Pitbull) – The Latin rapper takes us on an international tour with this album featuring guests including Christina Aguilera, Chris Brown, Usher, Afrojack, Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias and more.  For authenticity, the songs were recorded around the world so he really can claim to have brought the heat on a global scale.

Greatest Hits (3 Doors Down) – It’s hard to believe that it’s already time for this group to have a greatest hits album but after looking at the track listing, they are right on cue!  The collection includes their first big hit “Kryptonite” and so much more.

Celebration Day (Led Zeppelin) – The iconic band took the stage at London’s O2 Arena in 2007 to pay tribute to Ahmet Ertegun, a close friend and the founder of Atlantic Records.  For more than two hours, they delivered a performance that secured their legendary status and featured favorites including “Kashmir” and “Stairway to Heaven.”  Considered the greatest rock and roll concert by many, this is a great addition to any Led Zeppelin fan’s collection.

Other notable releases include In the Motion Pictures (Elvis Costello), Midnight Special (Uncle Kracker) and Rebel Soul (Kid Rock).
