New Album in the Works for Christina Aguilera
At the end of 2011, Perez Hilton reported Christina Aguilera would be releasing a single in January, but “Moves Like Jagger” is still the only material the “Beautiful” singer has put out in two years. Gossip rumors aside, The Voice judge confirmed a new album – a follow-up to Bionic – in an interview with Christina Milian on the set of the television competition. Aguilera, courtesy of MTV, said: "My album, what's going on with that? Well, I started [it] whenever I started this show, and then [the show] kind of took off into this big thing. So the show used to be a side project [and it] kind of turned into a bigger time-fulfilling, dedicated project for me."
The singer went onto describe recording sessions, saying: "I've been in the studio, hard at work. Different producers I'm working with have just excited me so much and have given me amazing tracks and beats and material I've been writing to and [with] writing partners. It's just filled with fun and excitement, and it's gonna come out later this year, and I'm very, very excited to share it with my fans, finally."
Aside from success on the second seasons of The Voice, Aguilera will be facing off with Britney Spears – in a bowling competition. A statement released yesterday mentions the two former teen pop stars are competing this week in the Championship Round of the Celebrity Bowling Hall of Fame Tournament. So far, Aguilera beat Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb to reach the next round, while Spears, surprisingly, surpassed LeBron James. Out of these two, who do you think will win?
And, more importantly, where do you think Aguilera will go with her upcoming album? Considering the variety in her career, almost anything could be possible. Do you think she’s teaming up with any well-known producers, and if so, who do you think she should collaborate with?
