The Killers - Tranquilize Song Review

Former Velvet Underground singer Lou Reed will lend vocals to 'Tranquilize,' a new song on the Killers' forthcoming B-sides and rarities CD. "We were thrilled with being able to work with Lou Reed," Killers frontman Brandon Flowers told NME. "The song was calling for a duet and his voice was just right. The sentiment of the song is very him."

"There's a desperation to it," Flowers expounded. "It's one of our more depressing songs, but there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. It's a song that really should've been on 'Sam's Town.'"

The video features Brandon wandering around an empty house. Somewhere in the house is Lou Reed, sitting at a piano. Brandon sings the song, including Reed's parts, making it look like he has been possessed. Intercut with this are shots of the Killers in a darkly lit, red room, around a table, apparently performing a seance. The video ends with Brandon finding and pointing at Reed, singing his outro.
