Born a Zoroastrian, Shayan's childhood was filled with fun, laughter,

discipline and good values bestowed upon him by his parents. He was

brought up under the notion that family was the single most important

thing in one's life. Further having a Mum, Dad and elder brother who

were well educated, Shayan was blessed with the opportunity to study

at The Doon School, one of India's finest schools. Unlike most who

sought to do their undergraduation abroad, Shayan decided to do his

undergraduate studies at home so as to stay with his father, who at

the time was suffering from Multiple Sclerosis.

Shayan always thought he would lose his father Dr Fareed Italia very

soon, but in 1997 reality struck when his mother Mahrook Italia was

diagnosed with Cancer. She passed away on April 24th 1998 before his
