Interpol - No I In Threesome Song Review

Interpol's video for new album Our Love to Admire's latest U.S. radio single, "No I in Threesome", doesn't take the obvious, literal route. That's the high-minded choice and a relief, though what the song's somber guitars and ghostly piano need probably isn't more seriousness. After opening shots of a fireplace and a shell-shocked Paul Banks, the band go through the looking glass performing in an old house. On the other side of the mirror, a white-bearded old man in suspenders carves meat at a cluttered table. Fire begins to consume the place even as Interpol start really getting their dour on. Not so sure what a bird unable to escape means in context of the song's title. "Just let us be free tonight," Banks intones. Is the old man part of the threesome?
