Ice Cube could not come back with a better cd to be honest. Ice Cube still raps well and though he's far from the streets he stills gives this cd messages from politics to streets. The production is real good from Lil Jon, to Swiss Beatz the beats are perfect for him. Go To Church has a southern beat but what makes it soo good is that he pulls it off so well and snoop dogg's verse is fire. Why We Thugs is the best beat though and has the best lyrics with the most messages.
Its surprising how Ice Cube being away from the streets and the rap game how he can still hold it down so well and how he didnt sell out to sell more records. Like mostly every cd this year it has its flaws but they don't over cloud Ice Cube's greatness on this cd. One of them is how there are a bit too many pauses from the music with these little skits of how Ice Cube was the O.G. of gangsta rap and all that crap. It doesnt really matter the first few times but when you're really getting into the cd and then you wanna hear the next song pressing that next button really is a big letdown and cuts the flow that this cd would have if these things were trimmed.
Also some songs don't fit Ice Cube too well.. Like "Spittin Pollaseeds" nice beat but Ice Cube doesn't really have anything cool to say or to make you wanna hear the song again. "Stop snitchin" is another song that doesn't fit Ice Cube well. Yeah its good but Ice Cube doing this song is just as out of place as Westside Connection making an R&B/Hip-Hop collabo with Tyrese. Overall this cd is great and a perfect comeback for Ice Cube but there's things that keep it away from being that true dope Ice Cube cd that he hasn't done since Death Certificate.
