Gareth Gates - Angel On My Shoulder Song Review
On June 18th Gareth Gates releases his second single `Angel On My Shoulder`, which is Gareth`s personal favourite on his forthcoming album `Pictures Of The Other Side`. After notching up over 3 million record sales in under two years, Gareth spent 3 years out of the public eye, devoting his time to writing and recording his new material, and also concentrating on improving his speech after working with and for The McGuire Programme.
The latest single campaign saw him achieve many of his personal career goals, including an array of live TV pieces and a particularly great, honest interview on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross, from which he garnered a lot of praise and new fans. `Angel On My Shoulder` is a very moving and poignant track, and one that everyone can relate to in some way.
Gareth says: `Angel On My Shoulder`, lyrically, talks about a figure in your life who is there when things go wrong. It could be a partner, a friend or a relative. They`re there to pick up the pieces. You could do the worst thing, but they`d still be there for you and love just the same. It talks about unconditional love and I wrote the track for my mum. I recorded the track with Martin Terefe, who produced the likes of James Morrison and KT Tunstall, so it boasts that live singer/songwriter sound. The acoustic guitar and lush string arrangement only add to the epic feel of the ballad.`
