Truckback Records is also pleased to announce the release of another masterpiece production from Ras Tingle and Danielle Desulme of TD Films, the Ras Tingle directed music video for Baijie's hit single, "That's Life".
"That's Life" is the first single released from Baijie's debut album, Equilibrium, produced by Truckback's Steve Locke and scheduled for release in this year. Baijie's conscious and contemporary style, recorded over a groovy one drop riddim, charms by its versatility combining intelligent and hard hitting lyrics with a respect for the music.
For "That's Life", Ras Tingle and editor "i.am.the.kritic" highlight the universal nature of societal pressures with powerful scenes of Baijie negotiating life's everyday challenges. From Church Street in the heart of Kingston, Jamaica, to a live performance by Kaushan Band, from the neighborhood of Vineyard Town to vignettes of compelling personal stories plucked from everyday life including the deejay Captain Barkey who makes a surprise appearance as the cable TV technician who has come to cut the line due to non payment, "That's Life" is a realistic portrayal in any language. Reggae and R&B industry icon, Zola Burse (Reggae Sunsplash, Lionel Richie, Marvin Gaye, Roberta Flack, Maxi Priest, Beres Hammond and more) also makes a cameo appearance as the "shady" landlord.
