More Collaborations Revealed for Rihanna’s Eighth Studio Album
It’s getting to be time for Rihanna to release a new studio album. After all, she has followed a pattern of putting out one release per year since 2005, and the last was 2012’s Unapologetic.
But while news of an eighth studio album started circulating back in the fall, very little is known about it. As the singer herself appears to cavort around the Caribbean and to make taking Instagram pictures her job, until deleting her account recently, her music seems secondary – with only producers coming forward.
The recent details, put together by Perez Hilton, still follow this same pattern. According to recent interviews, Emeli Sande has been in Paris writing new music for Rihanna’s next album, and producer duo Stargate has further been involved.
This adds to earlier reports from DJ Mustard, who spoke about having Rihanna’s sound return to the club. As well, Dutch house producer Nicky Romero, known for “Legacy” and Avicii collaboration “I Could Be The One,” spoke about going into the studio with her last fall. In addition, David Guetta – behind “Who’s That Chick” – has been rumored to be working with the singer again.
Unapologetic turned into Rihanna’s first No. 1 album in the U.S., after years of getting extremely close. The album further went to No. 1 on the U.K. Albums Chart and generated seven singles, including “Diamonds,” “Stay,” and “What Now.”
