Missy Higgins 'Unashamed Desire' Music Video

Australian singer-songwriter, Missy Higgins, has just released the music video for her new single "Unashamed Desire". It has been five years since the ARIA Award winning singer has released any new music. Much to the music industry's surprise, Missy quit music altogether back in 2007, but has now returned with a new album - due to be released in June. Entitled The Ol' Razzle Dazzle, the disc is the third studio album to be released by multi-award winning singer. 

As soon as the album becomes available in stores, Missy will commence a two month tour of Australia, another first since her 2007 departure.

Over the past few months, she has been performing on Gotye's sell-out tour of the US where she sang in the place of Kimbra for "Somebody That I Used To Know". Not surprisingly, that song has gone to No 1 in the US.

Now rejuvenated to produce more music, Missy has pre-released this new track ahead of the album, and has called in Natasha Pincus (the brains behind Gotye's hit video) to direct the "Unashamed Desire" clip.

In the video, Missy Higgins is dressed in black as she sings, "I've got nothing to hide/My unashamed desire/is an open fire/Unashamed desire...". She is surrounded by dancers who follow her every move, and take the literal meaning of "take what you like" when her outer cape is lifted off. 

The clip continues to strip her down to her bare self, revealing that "I've got nothing to hide" just an "unashamed desire". The music video looks very simplistic, yet the message is very clear that when broken down to the basics, she has a simple want - an unashamed desire.
