Miley Cyrus Confirms ‘Bangerz’ Release Date
Although she didn’t hit another social media milestone (the last was 13 million Twitter followers), Miley Cyrus revealed the release date for her upcoming album BANGERZ this week.
We should expect BANGERZ in stores on October 8. However, from what it looks like, the former Hannah Montana star isn’t done working on the release. A subsequent Twitter update makes her appear to be buckling down in the studio soon: “For anyone calling me.... I am locking down #BANGERZ literally tonight. Going MIA. #focused #putinWERK”
Aside from the title and release date, more has been confirmed about BANGERZ, essentially Cyrus’ foray into urban culture after the techno influence of Can’t Be Tamed and previous tween-friendly pop-country offerings. Guest artists are expected to include Big Sean, Ludacris, and Pharrell Williams.
After her hit “We Can’t Stop,” Cyrus has a follow-up single planned: “23,” now scheduled to come out on August 26. For those keeping track, that’s a day after the 2013 MTV VMAs, where the singer is expected to perform. Although we can’t confirm it, she’ll probably perform her upcoming song at the high-profile event.
“We Can’t Stop” proved to be extremely successful for the singer, peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Hopefully, come October, BANGERZ will do the same on the album charts.
