Miguel Wants Multiple Collaborations for Upcoming Third Album
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, R&B singer Miguel revealed his plans for a third studio album.
The release would follow Kaleidoscope Dream, his hit sophomore album that came out in 2012. However, in speaking with the entertainment magazine, the singer that scored a hit last year with Mariah Carey mentioned feeling hesitant initially toward making a follow up: "It was a little daunting because I wasn't sure how rusty I'd be. I'd been collecting ideas and writing down concepts and phrases and all those things you hoard as you're moving along, and that very first day in the first hour, we had something special.”
He then said: “I think my spirit was ready to go and ride the wave, so to speak. I've been so focused on performing and making sure that what we do live is connecting. So now I'm just happy to be in a place where I can have solitude and just create freely."
At the time The Hollywood Reporter caught up with Miguel, he had been in the studio with singer Jessie Ware, but that isn’t the only collaboration he would like. Although the release looks to be in the early stages now, he wants Kanye West, Mos Def, and Jack White to appear on tracks eventually.
Miguel scored a hit two years ago, with Kaleidoscope Dream rising to No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and No. 9 on the R&B Albums chart.
