Comic-obsessed troubadour and owner of great hair, Dev Hynes AKA Lightspeed Champion will tee up his 2008 Domino debut LP Falling Off The Lavender Bridge with a 10-minute single called Midnight Surprise.

Here, Hynes scurries down a hole and awakens with a start. When he returns, he finds he can reach through the hole into the bedroom of a teenage girl, whose face he caresses. He digs up a cup attached to a string, and starts singing to her through it: "Reminds me I'm alone," he confides. As the strings and acoustic guitar grow more frantic, a bike ride to the girl's place ends up like a scene at Star Wars' Mos Eisley Cantina-- nice aliens-- but she's definitely there, yay. What happens next is a little surreal.
