Michael Jackson's Mom Didn't Know She Was Missing

Michael Jackson’s mother was recently reported missing by a family member but, as court documents show, she was actually sent to a resort where her contact with the outside world was cut off so she had no idea people were looking for her.  She did not have access to a telephone or her iPad and her stay at the resort in Tucson, Arizona was unplanned but she was compelled to go after her doctor ordered her to get some rest.  Her initial plan for the end of summer was to get in an RV and travel cross-country to watch her sons perform.

She found out that people were worried about her when she heard a television report.  "While there was a telephone in my room, the telephone was not functioning and I could not dial out," she said in the documents. "In addition, there was no picture on the television in my room."

She did ask to have it fixed but, apparently, the sound was working just fine.  "One morning I woke up to the sound of the television," she said. "While there was no picture, I heard a broadcast that stated I was missing."

She submitted this information as part of a request to have her rights as the guardian of Michael Jackson’s three children reinstated. While she was unreachable, a judge had granted temporary custody of the kids to her grandson, TJ Jackson, the son of Tito.  The judge felt it was justifiable since she had been out of contact with her grandchildren for 10 days.

While she was in the resort, her lawyer had even flown to Tucson to try to reach her and she had no idea her grandchildren were concerned for her well-being.  "While I was away, I had no reason to question whether the people with whom I placed trust would inform me that Prince, Paris and Blanket were trying to reach me," she said.

Whenever she’d ask about them, she was told they were fine.  "The day before I was brought home from Tucson, I was finally permitted to use the phone to speak with Prince, Paris, Blanket and TJ," she said.

Now that she is aware of what was happening, she met with her attorney and TJ Jackson where it was decided that TJ needed legal authority in case something happened in her.

An investigation into how the children are being cared for was favorable towards Katherine. "I think the kids are in terrific hands," the judge said. "It appears from the report that Katherine Jackson has done a wonderful job and cares about the children very much."

Hopefully, this family can begin to find some peace.
