"Mean" Video Review

"Mean" is another empowering song added to the list by Taylor Swift, along with Katy Perry's "Firework" and Beyonce's "Run The World (Girls)". Produced by Nathan Chapman, the single is taken from Swift's third album, "Speak Now".

Taylor stated in an interview with E! News the song's message, "there's constructive criticism, there's professional criticism, and then there's just being mean. And there's a line that you cross when you just start to attack everything about a person."

Directed by Declan Whitebloom, the video was filmed in Los Angeles, at the Orpheum Theatre and features Child star Joey King. He recently commented on the video, "We all have similar stories in our life that hit similar emotional cues, and to open it up and make it broader about lots of people and situations .. makes it much more accessible."
