Mary J. Blige Joins "The Voice"

With all of the moving and shaking over at American Idol there has been so much speculation about who will be replacing ousted judges, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.  One name that had been mentioned as a possibility was that of Mary J. Blige and, while it seems that she is joining a reality singing competition, it’s not Idol – it’s The Voice.

Blige has agreed to be on Adam Levine’s team to help with mentoring the contestants on the upcoming third season.  Team Adam has been mentored in the past by Robin Thicke (who is now on Duets) and Alanis Morrissette. 

I think that Blige is going to be a great partner for Levine and she certainly knows the ins and outs of the business so her feedback will probably be very valuable.

Another famous mentor was recently named.  Blake Shelton will be joined by Canadian jazz star, Michael Bublé.  So far, there haven’t been any announcements regarding the mentors of the other judges, Christina Aguilera and Cee-Lo Green.

The third season kicks off on September 10, 2012 on NBC.
