"Martyr" Video Review

Taken from the eagerly awaited Best Of collection, Martyr is a powerful, hypnotic track written by Martin Gore which deftly confirms the band’s iconic status.

Produced by Ben Hillier, of Doves and Blur fame, the new single is unrelenting, absolute Depeche Mode and sits immaculately amongst their luminous history. Surging with incandescent synths, a razor-sharp hook and Dave Gahan’s emotive claims of being "a martyr for love", it is both irresistible and irrepressible.
