According to statements from Barbara Walters, Mariah Carey is getting extra security on the set of ‘American Idol.’ Mariah Carey Getting Extra Security on ‘A.I.’ Set

She’s been accused of being a diva, but this time, Mariah Carey’s efforts for extra security could be more than a call for attention. Last week, a video surfaced of Nicki Minaj fighting with Carey while behind the judges’ desk during American Idol auditions in North Carolina, and Minaj, later, allegedly said she would shoot the singer.

Carey has not come forward directly with a statement, but reportedly spoke with Barbara Walters. On The View, last week, Walters relayed her conversation with Carey. Carey, according to Walters, is now having extra security with her on American Idol in preparation for Minaj’s unpredictable behavior. Walters stated: Mariah said she doesn't feel comfortable emotionally, but she will continue with the show because she likes the show and she loves mentoring the contestants."

Minaj since responded to Walters’ televised statements and TMZ’s video leak. Speaking to her fans on Twitter, the “Starships” rapper said: "Hey yAll. Lets just say nicki said smthn about a gun. ppl will believe it cuz she's a black rapper. Lmao. I'll then hit up Barbara n milk it. Ironically no camera or mic heard the gun comment tho. Lol @ the struggle. Not even the producers believed u. Say no to violence barbs."

As far as the other judges are concerned, Keith Urban appeared to be caught between Minaj and Carey’s fight and jokingly called Randy Jackson the most aggressive judge out of the four. But, if this video and the stars’ statements are any indication, this combination will likely only last one season. Who do you think will be first to call it quits – Minaj or Carey?
