Loverboy Announces New Album ‘Unfinished Business’
These days, Loverboy are considered one of the many one-hit-wonder acts to emerge from the 1980s, but believe it or not, they have four – yes four – albums that reached at least platinum status in the U.S. during that decade, and continued to put out material into the ‘00s.
Their last full-length release was 2007’s Just Getting Started, and now seven years later, they have Unfinished Business, scheduled for 2014.
According to a press statement, the 10 tracks range from material written 40 years ago to songs recorded after their efforts for 2012’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Revival. Regarding the new material, Paul Dean said: “We practically lived at Little Mountain Studios for 6 months (referring to the “Lovin Every Minute” album sessions), but it’s a new world. I do everything on my laptop now. Way better!”
He then went onto say: “These are tracks we’d recorded over the years, and we just decided to complete them and release the album to show our appreciation to the fans who have supported us all this time.”
With its title selected by fans, Unfinished Business comes out on July 15 through Redeye Distribution. New single “Counting The Nights” has already been released.
Back in the ‘80s, Loverboy had significant success with their self-titled release, Get Lucky, Keep It Up, and Lovin’ Every Minute of It.
