Lollapalooza's Two South American Festivals Announce Lineups
After the success of Lollapalooza Chile last year, the music festival has expanded its South American presence to Brazil in 2012.
The two South American festivals announced their lineups this morning. They will share some but not all acts on their bills.
The acts that will overlap include the Arctic Monkeys, Skrillex, Calvin Harris, MGMT, TV On The Radio, Bassnectar, Band of Horses, Thievery Corporation, Peaches, Cage the Elephant, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Friendly Fires, Foster the People, and Tinie Tempah.
The Foo Fighters will close both festivals.
In addition to those groups, Chile will feature Bjork and Avicii along with Chilean artist Camila Moreno. Brazil will welcome the return of Jane's Addiction and Brazilians Plebe Rude, Wander Wildner, and Cascadura.
Lollapalooza Chile will take place at Santiago's O'Higgins Plaza on March 31 - April 1, 2012. Lollapalooza Brazil will take place at São Paulo's Jockey Club on April 7 - 8, 2012.
As Lollapalooza co-founder and Jane Addiction's frontman Perry Farrell stating earlier this month, "The people of São Paulo have been very active - twittering me whom they want to see in the 2012 [Lollapalooza] lineup. Judging by all the requests, they are going to erupt. We really delivered for them. Now, I want them to show me how you party in Brasil."
