"Loca" Video Review

The hip-shaking bombshell is back, on the heels of 'Waka Waka,' Shakira has released the second single, 'Loca,' from her forthcoming album, 'Sale el Sol/The Sun Comes Out,' scheduled to be released on October 19.

How loca is Shakira willing to go these days? Loca enough to take a little swim through the famed fountain in Barcelona's famed Pla de Palau, change clothes in broad daylight, eat while rollerskating and ride a motorcycle without a helmet. All while wearing a sporty bikini top and little else and using the sidewalks of Barcelona for the purposes of intimately loitering. I guess since she spent all that time chained up in a cage during her closeted "She Wolf" phase, Shakira's ready to get out in the sunshine.

There's roller skating, frolicking in a fountain, (very public) costume changes, motorcycle riding and - of course - a whole lot of hip-shaking, too. It's sexy, cheeky and, yes, even a little bit crazy, but then again, what Shakira video isn't? And while "Loca" may be a departure from her previous clips, what makes it great is the simple fact that none of her pop contemporaries — not even Lady Gaga - would dare try something like this. And that's why we love her so much.

Confirmed as the first single from Shakira's upcoming bilingual studio album "Sale El Sol" which is due October 19 in U.S., "Loca" is a remake of El Cata's song "Loca Con Su Tiguere". It is recorded in English with Rascal as a featured guest and in Spanish with the addition of El Cata's vocal.
