Lil Wayne Weighs In On Drake Being Involved with Aaliyah Album
When Aaliyah died in a plane crash in 2001, the world mourned a woman who had an incredibly promising career ahead of her. She was so talented and just plain cool so it was really a tragic loss.
Now, a new Aaliyah album is in the works and Drake is planning to produce the compilation of her unreleased music. Lil Wayne believes that its going to result in an awesome collaboration.
The Canadian rapper has admitted to being a huge Aaliyah fan and has already dropped Enough Said which is a track featuring his rapping along with the deceased singers vocals.
While some people are excited about the upcoming album, some are pretty upset by it. When she was alive, Aaliyah worked closely with Missy Elliott and Timbaland and neither of them has expressed support and DMX, with whom she co-starred in Romeo Must Die, has been downright critical.
Despite this, Lil Wayne is actually claiming that he hasnt heard any negative feedback surrounding his Young Money prots upcoming production. He said: "Everybody knows what Aaliyah did and done for music and culture, period, and it's always good to do that, for not only for people like that, just for her fans - you know what I mean? Drake's a very thoughtful person. Everyone knows that. It's an awesome collaboration."
What do you think? Is it inappropriate to be releasing a new Aaliyah album, especially without the input of the two people (Missy Elliott and Timbaland) who were most involved with her while she was alive?
