Lil Wayne Reveals His Post-Retirement Plans
In our day-to-day lives, we’ve definitely come into contact with friends, family or coworkers (or ourselves!) who feel that they should or could be doing something different with their lives. Some people are able to put those dreams off until after retirement, some give up what they are doing to try to follow their hearts but most people never take a chance on making them a reality.
Lil Wayne might be one of the most recognizable artists in the country right now and there’s absolutely no denying his success. Still, he is planning to leave the music industry behind after releasing his upcoming Tha Carter V album and wants to start a completely different life.
What does he say he’d like to be doing? “I’d be a skater/sports analyst,” Lil Wayne says. “My day job will probably be sports analyst and I’ll skate all night instead of being in the studio all night.”
What’s interesting is that he doesn’t want to compete, he just wants to be part of the skating culture and community. Some may not realize that he’s actually built skate parts including one in New Orleans, his hometown (not to mention his TRUFIT skate-friendly clothing line).
He admits that when he first took notice of the sport, he thought it was just about “four wheels and a piece of wood” but now sees that’s it’s in its own little world and he wants to be a part of that.
In the meantime, Weezy says that he and Nelly are in the early stages of planning their own sports show.
