In the spirit of the giving thanks, rapper Lil Wayne made his way back to his home of New Orleans on November 18th to take part in Cash Money’s annual Thanksgiving tradition that is reportedly in its fifteenth year, according to MTV.  To help the less fortunate Lil Wayne and others passed out turkeys in the neighborhood that he grew up in.  Talking to the music network, Lil Wayne discussed the group’s efforts to help their childhood friends.

"It's actually been my first time back here for the past eight or nine years, and they've been doing this for 15 years.  I haven't been back here to do this for so long just being super busy, just always on tour."

The singer also explained that his feelings about giving has changed.  Previously he joined his friends, Baby and Slim, because it was something to do.  Now the well known music star gives because he is fortunate to do so.

"Those times I did it years ago, I was just a kid and I was just doing it because Baby and Slim, we were giving away turkeys at a park and that's what we were doin'.  Now it's a totally different feeling, because I can actually give you that and say, 'Here, happy Thanksgiving.' I can do that, and I can provide that for you. That's a different feeling in general, and it's a beautiful feeling overall."

Ronald Williams, aka Slim, the co-founder of Cash Money also spoke out about giving back during the Thanksgiving Day season.

"God blessed people to bless other people.  It makes it so special for us to come back home and see a smile on people's face after they received their turkeys and all the other items that go with it. So it's real big and real special for us."
